Estate and Caretaking Services
We aim to ensure that estates are clean, safe places to live. Every Hounslow Homes caretaker is given British Institute of Cleaning Sciences (BICS) training. This means that cleaning is high quality and consistent throughout our estates.
We provide mobile, resident and non-resident caretakers.
Standards of services
Mobile caretakers
Each of our mobile caretakers can service up to 20 sites per week. Each week they will:
- clean the lifts
- litter pick
- clean bin areas
- do a walk through of the building
- clean the main entrance
- sweep and mop staircase
- report communal areas defects
- remove and make safe broken glass where possible
- replace defective light bulbs in communal areas where possible
- report offensive graffiti and remove where possible
Resident
Resident caretakers live on the estates they service and also answer emergency call-out duties.
Daily they will:
- litter pick
- do a walk through the building Monday to Friday
- clean the main entrance
- report communal area defects
- remove and make safe broken glass where possible
- replace defective light bulbs in communal areas where possible
- report offensive graffiti and remove where possible
Weekly they will:
- clean bin areas
- sweep main staircase
- mop stairs
Non-resident
Daily they will:
- litter pick
- do a walk through of the building Monday to Friday
- clean main entrance and lift
- report communal area defects
- remove and make safe glass where possible
- report offensive graffiti and remove where possible
Weekly they will:
- clean bin areas
- sweep main staircase
- mop main staircase
We also have a rapid response team to answer calls across the borough including clearing up incidents of fly tipping on estates, jet washing areas where required and cleaning empty properties, making them ready fro occupation.
Caretaking depots
Our caretakers operate out of two depots:
Midsummer Depot, Midsummer Road, Hounslow
For properties in Hounslow, isleworth, Heston, Cranford, Feltham, Bedfont and Hanworth
Coates Walk Depot, Coats Walk, Brentford
For properties in Brentford and Chiswick
