Get ready for the digital switchover

Tue, 24 August 2023

The existing analogue television signal will be turned off in the UK in 2012 and will be switching over to digital broadcasting

Many of our existing communal aerial systems are not capable of receiving the new digital signal and need to be replaced.

An integrated reception system (IRS) provides broadcast signals from multiple sources to multiple outlets and every home in blocks with four or more dwellings, leaseholders or tenants, will have the system installed.

The benefits are that every home will be able to access free to view TV and radio channels received by Freeview, Freestat FM and DAB and maintenance costs will be reduced.

There is a government switchover help scheme to assist residents aged 75 years and over, the registered blind and partially sighted and those receiving disabled living allowance, attendance or constant attendance allowance or mobility supplement.
