Anti-Social Behaviour Orders issued on two individuals from Brentford

Anti-Social Behaviour Orders (ASBOs) were served on Kevin Bennett (18 yrs) from Beech Avenue and another youth* on the Syon estate in Brentford at a court hearing on Thursday 18th November.

The orders stand for two years and have been placed to deter the individuals from threatening and abusing local residents.  If they are seen to act against any of the prohibitions listed, the individuals could face a prison sentence of up to five years (for an adult) and two years (for a minor).

Hounslow Homes, which dealt with reports from residents and worked in partnership with The London Borough of Hounslow, the Police, and the Metropolitan Police Force’s Racial and Violent Crime Task Force to obtain the ASBOs, said of the result:

“These orders send out a strong message to the Syon estate and the rest of the borough that serious harassment will not be tolerated and we will pursue legal orders, if necessary, to protect the right of our residents to live happily and safely in their community.  Our own staff will be monitoring the activities of both these individuals. We also encourage residents to come forward should they witness anything which demonstrates that either have not kept to the rules of the order served”, says Lesley Roberts, Director of Housing Services, Hounslow Homes.

*Hounslow Homes, the London Borough of Hounslow and the Police will not be issuing the name of one of the offenders to the media in the interest of protecting his identity due to his young age.
